(Vietnamese)
The first thing
you want to try when coming here is the hot and sour soup. Mai's may be
located on Asian restaurant row (Clement St.), but it stands out from
the rest. The hot and sour soup ($5.50) comes with either shrimp or chicken
or veggies. Get ready to sweat! It's hot! Also recommended is the Coconut
Curry Chicken (or shrimp) is wonderful. The people there are very helpful
and nice.

(Asian Noodle House)
At once this place is a welcome
sight amoung the Haight St. craziness. The long bar as you enter
looks like all the seating there is, until you go further back and discover a whole dining area
of tables lit nicely with candlelight.
Although beer and wine are served, the house specialty
has to be the Sake Martinis. Choose from fresh orange or lemon-lime.
You won't be disappointed by the menu or the prices.
For such wonderful food and service, one would expect to pay more. Start off with the Vietnamese
Spring Rolls ($3.50). Also try the Chinese Greens & Shiitake Mushrooms ($3.50).
Then pick from one of the noodle soups - rice or soba noodles ($4.50-$6.25).
Or, Wok-Tossed Noodles - shrimp, beef, chicken, and more ($4.50-$6.50).
