Situated in the best part of North Beach, Boccé is well-known for it's cheap wonderful italian dinners as well as for it's comfy couches, and beautiful decor. There's also a patio where you can sit outside amounst the greenery and have a wonderful lunch. The menu is amusing, with it's $6.95 price tag for almost all pasta dinners. Pick a pasta, pick a sauce. It's still $6.95. If you like calamari (not fried), try the calamari salad. Greens and Calamari and veggies in a lemon vinagrette is tasty. And at $2.95, it's hard to beat. Boccé also has a wonderful wine list by the glass or by the bottle. Get to Boccé early for dinner. If you want to wait to eat until 8pm, make sure to get reservations ahead of time. Otherwise you might be waiting for up to two hours! Best to call ahead than not and be sorry. 478 Green St. @ Grant |
If you've ever wanted to taste real Italian pizza, this is the place. Having been to Italy, I know that the pizza there is thin, crispy, and delicious. I felt like I was back in Italy at Umbria. The atmosphere lends itself to it's Italian name well. Rustic wooden furniture, candle light, and an affordable, delicious, and authentically italian menu greet you at Restaurante Umbria. 198 2nd St. @ Howard |
